Laura Leichnitz's artistic journey has been shaped by a passion for the history of the city she lives and works in and the creative process. She began her journey at the University of Toronto, where she studied art history and simultaneously took classes at Sheridan College, specializing in printmaking and sculpture. She explored the possibilities of these mediums, discovering new ways to express her creativity and communicate her message.

For the past two decades, she has dedicated herself to providing opportunities for the next generation of artists as a teacher in Brampton. She has the privilege of nurturing the talents of over 500 students each week, instilling in them a love for art and a commitment to self-expression. Through her role as an educator, she strives to foster creativity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the arts.

She continues to explore the intersection of history, memory, and identity through paintings and prints. Drawing inspiration from the architectural wonders of Brampton and the stories of its inhabitants, she seeks to capture the essence of our shared heritage and evoke a sense of nostalgia that will spark dialogue and inspire others to see the beauty and complexity of the world around them.
